I can’t help but feel we’re watching the end of the American experiment in democracy. We’re manipulated by the media and the corporations. What are supposed to be the people’s elected representatives have been co-opted by plutocrats. There is no higher goal than the accumulation of wealth. Any institution or organization that is likely to benefit the general public is vilified and marginalized. Schools, independent press, unions, scientists, advocacy groups. Truth and fact are obsfuscated so no public consensus can be reached.
